125 "BUFFALO BILL"--WILLIAM F. CODY, Scout & Showman (1845-1917) Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show opened in 1883 recreating scenes from the American West. For the next 30 years, millions across the country and throughout Europe experienced Cody's portrayal of the winning of the West featuring real cowboys and Indians in various acts, roping and bronco-riding contests, sharpshooters and trick-riders, all of which developed into the modern rodeo.
