115 RAIN-IN-THE-FACE, “Iromagaja,” Hunkpapa Sioux Chief (1835-1905) A warrior in the 1st sense, Rain-in-the-Face counted many coups during the days of the Red Cloud Wars. He came to public note after his escape from the stockade at Fort Lincoln and untied his band of hostiles, who eventually helped defeat Custer on the Little Bighorn.
